Welcome to the Grassroots Priorities display of the current 89th Legislative Session.

When we created Grassroots Priorities at the close of the 88th session, we implemented a series of analytical tools that highlighted for you just how our representatives behaved during session. Did they listen to us? Did they shrink government or grow it? Did they act to hurt our families or protect them?

Here on the website, we're moving quickly to implement those same analytical tools for the previous 87th and ongoing 89th sessions. The data for those sessions are in what we call the GP2 framework. It looks slightly different from the original version of Grassroots Priorities, which is what you'll see when you view the 88th session.

Part of our challenge is how to best keep the website as up-to-date as we can. That's a new wrinkle in this rollout, as the session was completed when we first rolled out this tool for you. We'll let you know as we roll out analytical tools for you to use and highlight how our legislators are doing. In every session, some are champions, and some betray us. As always, we'll let you see for yourself.

If you're a conservative Republican, then you are the opposite of a liberal Democrat. Your greatest disagreements would be with Democrats, not Republicans. But that's not true of all of our Texas Republicans.

Throughout the session, we'll show you the facts of their votes, their bills, and how they respond to us and to lobbyists.
