HB 334 amends the Texas Local Government Code to allow counties to establish family leave pool programs for their employees. Under this program, county employees may voluntarily transfer their earned sick or vacation leave to a family leave pool. The leave from this pool can be used by employees who have exhausted their own leave for specified reasons, including serious personal or family illness, the birth or adoption of a child, or other extenuating circumstances, such as those related to a pandemic.
