HB 383 prohibits private employers from adopting or enforcing mandates requiring individuals to be vaccinated against COVID-19. It expands existing provisions to include all persons, not just employees or contractors, and prevents adverse actions against individuals for refusing the vaccine. The bill provides a mechanism for individuals to file complaints with the relevant commission for violations. It also establishes that the provisions are severable, ensuring the remaining parts of the law stand if any portion is invalidated. The act takes effect immediately with a two-thirds legislative vote or on September 1, 2025.
