Caption: Relating to the postponement of the delinquency date for a payment of ad valorem taxes imposed by a taxing unit if the office of the collector for the taxing unit is closed on the delinquency date.
Initially Referred to House Ways & Means Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 1392 allows the postponement of delinquency dates for ad valorem tax payments if the office of the tax collector is closed on the designated deadline. Tax payments made on the next regular business day will be considered timely under this provision, effective January 1, 2026.
