Caption: Relating to the authority of the Harris County Hospital District to employ and commission peace officers.
Initially Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
SB 434 authorizes the Harris County Hospital District to employ and commission peace officers, expanding the list of hospital districts with such authority. Peace officers employed under this statute will have full law enforcement capabilities, as defined in the Code of Criminal Procedure.
