Caption: Relating to an appraisal process for disputed losses under personal automobile or residential property insurance policies.

SB 458 mandates that personal automobile and residential property insurance policies include an appraisal process for resolving disputes about the amount of loss. The appraisal is binding on the policyholder and insurer unless fraud or material mistakes are involved. This requirement applies to policies delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
