HB 1506 amends the Government Code to include retired judges of constitutional or statutory county courts, with at least 48 months of service, within the definition of "retired judicial officer" for purposes of eligibility to obtain a license to carry a handgun. It specifies that the changes apply only to license applications submitted on or after its effective date, September 1, 2025.
