Caption: Relating to repayment of certain mental health professional education loans.

SB 646 expands the eligibility for the repayment of education loans for mental health professionals under the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. It includes additional categories of professionals, such as licensed professional counselor associates and school counselors, and increases the maximum loan repayment amounts. It also allows for bonus amounts for professionals practicing in underserved areas or fluent in languages of need.
