Caption: Relating to the authority of the Brazoria County Commissioners Court to execute tax abatement agreements for property within the Port Freeport district.

HB 2027 grants the Brazoria County Commissioners Court the authority to execute tax abatement agreements for properties within the Port Freeport district. It allows the court to designate property as a reinvestment zone and enter into tax abatement agreements with leaseholders and owners of tangible personal property or improvements located on tax-exempt property, subject to compliance with existing tax code provisions.
