Caption: Relating to the prohibition on posting on the Internet information held by an appraisal district regarding certain residential property.
Initially Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to House S/C on Property Tax Appraisals Committee, chaired by a Democrat
SB 973 updates restrictions on appraisal districts posting property information online. It prohibits districts from displaying aerial photographs that depict fewer than two separately owned buildings. The bill still allows the posting of street-level exterior photos, field records, and overhead sketches that include building outlines, landscape features, and distances between structures.
