Caption: Relating to fireworks sales to the public by retail fireworks permit holders on certain dates.
Initially Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to House S/C on County & Regional Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
SB 996 allows retail fireworks permit holders to sell fireworks on July 5, 2026. Currently, sales are restricted to specific periods around major holidays. This one-time exception is set to expire on September 1, 2026, and does not permanently change the existing sales calendar.
