HB 2273 proposes to expand the authority of county judges in certain Texas counties by allowing them to delegate specific duties. The bill modifies the Local Government Code to apply this delegation authority not only to counties with a population of more than 1.5 million but also to counties with a population between 350,000 and 370,000 that are adjacent to both the Gulf of Mexico and a county with a population of at least 3.3 million. The bill updates statutory language to reflect these changes.
