HB 2363 expands the authority of certain peace officers to make warrantless arrests outside their jurisdiction. It allows peace officers covered under Article 2A.001(3) or (14) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, who are properly licensed, to arrest individuals committing any offense in their presence, even when outside their jurisdiction. However, for traffic violations under Subtitle C, Title 7, Transportation Code, officers may only make arrests within counties where their employing municipality or district is located.
