Caption: Relating to the authority of a municipality to regulate a home-based business.
Initially Referred to House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 2464 limits municipal regulation of home-based businesses. The bill prohibits cities from requiring permits, licenses, or rezoning for no-impact home-based businesses, which are defined as businesses that do not exceed municipal occupancy limits for the property, do not generate on-street parking or substantial traffic, do not have visible business activities from the street. However, municipalities may still enforce fire codes, sanitation laws, noise pollution rules, and other regulations for home-based businesses
