Texas Policy Research Priority #1: TPR Vote Recommendation OPPOSED

HB 2578 requires public reporting of landlord-tenant dispute cases in Texas courts. It directs courts handling evictions, security deposit disputes, repair and remedy claims, and unlawful lockout cases to submit monthly reports to the Texas Judicial Council. This data will then be published online in a searchable format by the Office of Court Administration, allowing public access to information on case outcomes, legal representation, and jurisdiction details. The bill aims to increase transparency in rental disputes and tenant protections.
