It also classifies commissioned peace officers within the OIG under Schedule C of the state's position classification salary schedule, ensuring higher base salaries and structured pay increases. Additionally, the bill provides these officers with enhanced injury leave benefits, aligning them with other state law enforcement agencies. These changes aim to improve recruitment and retention of law enforcement personnel within the TJJD while ensuring competitive compensation and benefits.
