SB 1254 revises regulations governing professional employer services in Texas. It extends the validity of licenses for professional employer organizations (PEOs) to one year and allows a grace period of 18 months after license expiration before the entity loses its status as an employer. It also clarifies disciplinary actions that may be taken against non-compliant PEOs, including penalties for operating without a valid license, failure to notify of ownership changes, and delinquency in tax or insurance payments.
