SB 1267 revises regulations for boat registration, titling, and records management under the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). It updates the definition of vessels, improves ownership transfer requirements, and implements new security and verification measures for certificates of title. It shortens the deadline for reporting a change of boat ownership from 45 days to 20 days and adds penalties for fraudulent vessel registration activities. Additionally, it establishes new classifications for vessel-related offenses and improves record-keeping processes for the state.
