SB 1332 clarifies premium payment obligations for group health insurance policyholders when an individual loses eligibility for coverage. The bill allows health maintenance organizations (HMOs) and insurers to waive a policyholder's liability for premiums if the employer fails to notify the insurer of an employee's termination within the same month that coverage ends, provided the employee did not use medical services after termination. This change aims to prevent employers from being unfairly charged for coverage they no longer need.
