HB 3066 modifies hotel occupancy tax entitlements for municipalities involved in qualified hotel and convention center projects. It extends the period in which certain municipalities can collect state tax revenue generated from these projects from 20 years to 40 years, depending on specific qualifications. The bill also requires the Texas Comptroller to conduct a financial review of the state tax revenue collected and retained by municipalities at designated intervals.
