Initially Referred to House Ways & Means Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Economic Development Committee, chaired by a Republican
This bill would cost taxpayers $1,738,000.00 over five years, according to the Legislative Budget Bureau.
HB 3196 expands the ability of certain municipalities to receive tax revenue from hotel and convention center projects. It broadens the list of eligible cities that can collect and pledge tax revenue from these projects to pay for related obligations. The bill aims to support local economic development and tourism efforts by giving more municipalities access to funding mechanisms traditionally reserved for larger cities.
