HB 3223 reduces the statute of repose for certain construction-related claims from ten years to eight years. It applies to claims against architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, and contractors for damages arising from defects or unsafe conditions in improvements to real property. It also shortens the extension period for claims from two years to one year if a written claim is submitted within the original limitations period. These changes apply only to projects initiated after the bill's effective date.
