Caption: Relating to certain energy consumption goals for institutions of higher education and certain governmental entities.
Initially Referred to House State Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 3237 mandates that political subdivisions, higher education institutions, and state agencies reduce their electricity consumption by at least five percent annually for six years, starting September 1, 2025. This extends an existing energy efficiency goal from a previous statute.
