Texas Policy Research Priority #1: TPR Vote Recommendation ENDORSED

SB 1577 expands the temporary sale of alcoholic beverages at certain racing facilities in Texas. It allows mixed beverage permit holders to sell distilled spirits, wine, and malt beverages at facilities with a seating capacity of more than 40,000 that host motor vehicle racing events or similar activities. The bill removes prior restrictions, such as the limit on the alcohol content of beverages sold and the maximum number of events per year at which alcohol could be sold. It also eliminates a cap on the percentage of food and beverage stands allowed to sell alcohol at these venues.
