Caption: Relating to the use of a consumer's credit score in the underwriting or rating of certain personal lines property and casualty insurance policies.

SB 1644 mandates that insurance companies using credit scores to determine rates for personal property and casualty policies must review and update an insured's credit report at least once every 36 months. Policyholders can also request a reassessment of their insurance rating once per year based on an updated credit score. Insurers must provide written notice of any changes to premiums based on credit score updates.
