Caption: Relating to the prosecution of certain criminal offenses involving the unlawful disclosure of a residence address or telephone number.
Initially Referred to House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Criminal Justice Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 3425 enhances criminal penalties for the unlawful disclosure of a public servant's residence address or telephone number. It expands existing laws to include electronic communications and establishes prima facie evidence of intent to cause harm if a person fails to remove the disclosed information upon request. The bill also adds honorably retired peace officers to the protections and increases penalties if the disclosure leads to bodily harm.
