HB 3490 allows the governing board of certain state agencies to hold a closed meeting with the agency's internal auditor to discuss sensitive internal audit matters. This exemption from open meeting requirements applies when public disclosure would compromise independence, effectiveness, or confidentiality. The bill defines "internal auditor" based on Section 2102.006, Government Code, and applies to all agencies as defined in Section 2102.003, Government Code.
