Initially Referred to House Insurance Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Business & Commerce Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 3520 revises automobile liability insurance requirements for drivers of transportation network companies (TNCs), such as rideshare services. It clarifies that insurance policies must cover drivers while they are logged into a TNC's digital network, even if they do not have a passenger in the vehicle. The bill also sets minimum coverage requirements for bodily injury, property damage, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. The changes apply to automobile insurance policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
