Caption: Relating to the authority of a county commissioners court to adopt an exemption from ad valorem taxation by each taxing unit that taxes the property of the portion of the appraised value of a person's property that is attributable to the installation in or on the property of certain water conservation systems.
Initially Referred to House Ways & Means Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 3637 proposes to allow county commissioners courts to exempt from ad valorem taxation the portion of a property's appraised value attributed to the installation of water conservation systems, including rainwater harvesting and graywater systems. The bill is contingent on voter approval of a related constitutional amendment.
