Caption: Relating to the eligibility of a person to serve on a civilian oversight board.

SB 1957 restricts eligibility to serve on civilian oversight boards for law enforcement. The bill prohibits individuals with felony convictions or crimes of moral turpitude from serving on these boards, which monitor and investigate police and firefighter conduct. The bill defines civilian oversight boards as entities established by municipalities to review law enforcement practices.
