Caption: Relating to prohibiting organ transplant recipient discrimination on the basis of vaccination status.
Initially Referred to House Public Health Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Health & Human Services Committee, chaired by a Republican

RPT Priority #8: End Federal Overreach ENDORSED
GAWTP Priority #1: Liberty Bills ENDORSED

HB 4076 prohibits healthcare providers from denying organ transplants solely based on a patient's vaccination status. The bill prevents discrimination against unvaccinated individuals in all stages of the organ transplant process, including evaluation, surgery, and postoperative treatment. However, it allows physicians to consider vaccination status when making medical decisions if they determine it is clinically relevant to the transplant. The bill also authorizes healthcare providers to offer alternative risk mitigation strategies such as antibody testing or antiviral therapy in lieu of requiring vaccinations.
