SB 2075 revises the governance structure and operational framework of advisory boards established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. It replaces the term "advisory committees" with "advisory boards" and standardizes the appointment process, membership qualifications, and terms for various boards overseeing regulatory programs. The bill grants the presiding officer of the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation the authority to appoint board members, designate presiding officers, and set staggered six-year terms. Additionally, it clarifies that advisory boards serve in a purely advisory capacity and are not subject to certain provisions of the Government Code that regulate state advisory bodies.
