Caption: Relating to an exemption for certain property owners from regulatory requirements for residential mortgage loan originators.
Initially Referred to House Pensions, Investments & Financial Services Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 4166 expands exemptions for certain property owners from regulatory requirements for residential mortgage loan originators. It allows owners who provide a first-lien mortgage loan to a property purchaser to be exempt from state mortgage licensing laws, provided that a licensed mortgage loan originator handles all origination activities.
