RPT Priority #3: Stop Sexualizing Texas' Kids ENDORSED

Christin Bentley:
"HB 900 Clean up bill based on ruling by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and Administrative Law Judge with the Texas Education Agency. It includes strengthened definitions, library transparency, and civil enforcement."
HB 4198 strengthens library collection policies for public schools by prohibiting books or materials that contain sexually explicit, indecent, or profane content. It also requires transparency in cataloging library materials and allows residents of a school district to challenge a book's inclusion if it does not meet prevailing community standards.
