Caption: Relating to prohibiting the retention of certain genetic material and genetic information by the Department of Family and Protective Services.

HB 4377 prohibits the Department of Family and Protective Services from retaining genetic material or information obtained for paternity determination purposes. It requires the department to promptly destroy such material once the purpose for which it was obtained is fulfilled and mandates the deletion of all stored genetic data by January 1, 2026.
