HB 4412 permits certain municipalities to use hotel occupancy tax revenue for public improvement projects that directly benefit the hotel and tourism industry. The municipalities eligible must meet specific criteria related to hotel occupancy rates and tax revenue. The bill imposes a cap on the percentage of project costs that can be funded by hotel tax revenue and includes provisions to reduce municipal hotel occupancy tax rates over time.
