Caption: Relating to the establishment by the Texas Workforce Commission of a pilot program to train workers for careers in energy-efficient technologies.
Initially Referred to House S/C on Workforce Committee, chaired by a Democrat
HB 4443 establishes a Careers in Energy-Efficient Technologies Pilot Program under the Texas Workforce Commission. The program, initially set up in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, will partner with public junior colleges and energy-efficient technology employers to provide job training. It includes dual-credit courses for high school students and workforce training programs. The effectiveness of the program will be evaluated, with a report due by December 1, 2030.
