Caption: Relating to the authority of a municipality or county to regulate certain matters related to firearms, air guns, archery equipment, and other weapons and related supplies.
Initially Referred to Senate State Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to House Homeland Security, Public Safety & Veterans' Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
SB 2284 expands state preemption over firearms, air guns, archery equipment, and other weapons, preventing municipalities and counties from regulating their possession, carrying, storage, or commerce. It also prohibits local governments from requiring liability insurance for firearm or archery equipment owners and restricts counties from limiting hunting with bows and arrows on lots of seven acres or larger.
