HB 4705 grants the Attorney General authority to prosecute election-related crimes in cases where a district or county attorney has a policy of refusing to prosecute election law violations. If a judge finds that a local prosecutor has adopted a non-prosecution policy, the Attorney General may take over the case. The bill applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025.
