Caption: Relating to nonsubstantive additions to, revisions of, and corrections in enacted codes, to the nonsubstantive codification or disposition of various laws omitted from enacted codes, and to conforming codifications enacted by the 88th Legislature to other Acts of that legislature.
Initially Referred to House Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Administration Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 1620 makes nonsubstantive revisions to various Texas statutes as part of the state's ongoing statutory revision program. It corrects errors, inconsistencies, duplications, and outdated references across multiple legal codes, including the Agriculture Code, Business & Commerce Code, Civil Practice & Remedies Code, and Criminal Procedure Code. The bill ensures that previously enacted laws are harmonized and correctly referenced in state law. The bill does not introduce substantive policy changes but serves to streamline and clarify legal texts.
