Caption: Relating to state recognition of the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas.
Initially Referred to House State Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 4732 formally recognizes the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas as a state-recognized Native American Indian Tribe. This recognition allows the tribe to access programs, services, and benefits designated for state-recognized tribes at both the state and federal levels. The bill does not grant federal tribal recognition but affirms the tribe's historical and cultural status within Texas.
