Initially Referred to House Land & Resource Management Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 4753 pertains to the regulation of certificates of occupancy by municipalities in Texas. It requires municipalities that issue certificates of occupancy to provide a document acknowledging that a certificate has been issued upon request by the building owner. The bill prohibits municipalities from adopting or enforcing ordinances that require individuals to obtain or display an original certificate of occupancy if they have already received an acknowledgment document. The acknowledgment document must be considered sufficient for display in place of the original certificate of occupancy. The bill aims to simplify compliance requirements for building owners regarding occupancy certification.
