Caption: Relating to the regulation of campaign treasurer appointments and related matters and the content of and posting of information contained in a campaign treasurer appointment; providing a civil penalty.
Initially Referred to House State Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 5111 modifies the regulations for campaign treasurer appointments. It establishes eligibility requirements, preventing individuals from serving as campaign treasurers if they are already serving in that capacity for another candidate or committee, have been convicted of election-related offenses, or are registered lobbyists. The bill also mandates disclosure of a campaign treasurer's date of birth and driver's license or state ID number, with protections ensuring certain personal information is redacted before reports are posted online.
