SB 2422 limits the authority of the Texas Medical Board to investigate or discipline medical professionals for prescribing ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, or budesonide for COVID-19 treatment. It also prevents the board from taking action against individuals for statements about the efficacy of masks or for not wearing or requiring masks. Additionally, the bill mandates that the board expunge records related to investigations or disciplinary actions concerning these matters and requires reimbursement of legal fees and fines paid by affected individuals.
