Caption: Relating to the sale of park land owned by certain municipalities.
Initially Referred to Senate Local Government Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, chaired by a Republican
SB 2675 exempts certain municipalities from the general requirement that parkland can only be conveyed by election. It applies to municipalities in counties with a population of at least 800,000, adjacent to the Texas-Mexico border, and without a city of at least 500,000 residents. The largest municipality in such a county may convey parkland without following the usual public election requirements.
