HB 107 directs the establishment of a sickle cell disease registry in Texas, managed by the Department of Health and Human Services. The registry will serve as a central repository for accurate records of sickle cell disease cases, aiding in the treatment and research of the disease. Healthcare facilities will be required to provide data to the department, and all collected information must comply with confidentiality and health privacy laws. The department will submit annual reports to the legislature and may publish statistical analyses.
