Caption: Relating to the enforceability of certain state agency and local government contract language regarding required security incident notifications.
Initially Referred to House Delivery of Government Efficiency Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to Senate Business & Commerce Committee, chaired by a Republican
HB 5331 strengthens cybersecurity enforcement by prohibiting contract clauses that restrict state agencies or local governments from complying with Texas' cybersecurity incident notification laws. It clarifies that any such prohibitive contract language is void and unenforceable.
