HB 5627 creates the Texas Commission on Public School Teacher Retirement Funding Transparency. The commission will study and recommend improvements to how teacher retirement contributions are incorporated into the Foundation School Program, ensuring equitable funding and long-term solvency of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS). The commission will submit its final report to the Legislature by December 31, 2026, and will dissolve on January 1, 2027.
