Texas Policy Research Priority #1: TPR Vote Recommendation ENDORSED

SB 2774 amends the Tax Code to expand the definition of "retail trade" for franchise tax purposes. It incorporates additional activities into the classification, including those involving the rental of industrial uniforms, garments, and linen supplies, as well as heavy construction equipment rental or leasing. These additions align with specific industries identified in the 1987 Standard Industrial Classification Manual. The changes apply to franchise tax reports originally due on or after the bill's effective date of January 1, 2027.
