Caption: Relating to the regulation of steroid use by students participating in athletic competitions sponsored or sanctioned by the University Interscholastic League.
Initially Referred to Senate Education K-16 Committee, chaired by a Republican
Last Referred to House Public Education Committee, chaired by a Republican
SB 2920 modifies regulations on steroid use by student-athletes in University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions. It maintains that students can use steroids only when prescribed by a medical practitioner for a valid medical purpose but explicitly states that providing steroids to a minor student for the purpose of transitioning their biological sex does not qualify as a valid medical purpose.
